About this list

Only a handful of clubs open on Sunday, and most of them in the afternoon. Elan Paris Echecs in the 16th arrondissement lists long Sunday hours in the federation register, as does the club of Colombes. The Association Gennevilloise des Echecs gives its chess courses on Sunday mornings, starting with the new season in September.

In Val-de-Marne three clubs keep Sunday afternoons: L'Echiquier de Joinville at the Maison des Associations of Joinville-le-Pont, La Dame de Sucy at the Maison du Rond d'Or in Sucy-en-Brie, and the Club d'Échecs de Vincennes. For Sunday tournaments rather than club play, the rapid tournaments of the Blitz Society bar in the 6th arrondissement appear among the tournaments and in the cafés list.
