Rapid tournaments in and around Paris 16

Rapid chess, with games of a few tens of minutes on the clock, is the everyday tournament format of Paris. The Interchess tournaments and the Rapide FIDE du Canal have reached hundreds of editions, Club 608 runs its own rapids in the 15th arrondissement, and the Blitz Society bar on rue du Sabot holds rapid tournaments on Sunday. Clubs in the 10th, 18th and 20th add their own: the Open Rapide Schlak, the Tournoi du Petit Pouchet and the women's tournament of Tour Blanche.

Most suburban rapids are the yearly event of a town club: Montreuil has a rapid open and a FIDE open, and Pantin, Vincennes, Vanves, Sèvres, Vitry-sur-Seine and Clamart, through Le Cavalier Rouge, each have one. Every tournament here is rated by FIDE; the entry shows its newest dated edition.
